There are only four people in this film who can act; Katie McGrath, Roger Moore, Sam Heughan and Miles Richardson. Unfortunately they don’t get to show it as the script is rubbish and full of clichès, and the rest of the cast overact dramatically. The four mentioned overact a little as well, maybe because the script “tells them to”, but to a less degree. We don’t get to know any of the characters; they are nothing but charicatures, and we don’t get to dwell on any moment as everything paces quickly by. The characters who meet for the first time during the film act as if they know each other, though the film lacks the scenes to make it credible that they do.
The locations are beautiful, but I don’t get to enjoy them because of the quick pace. I didn’t get any Christmas feeling either, as a good Christmas film should give.
…HOW TRUE. Miles.
