Last day of Dancing.
The last day filming on “Dancing on the Edge” today. Very relaxed as there was only myself, Mathew Goode, Mel Smith and Antony Head in today. Mr. Poliakoff manged to forgive me for mangling his lines for the umpteenth time and presented me with a bottle of Champagne, which was very public spirited of him.

John Goodman.
First day filming with John today. He’s a lot smaller in real life than he is on the screen. Which is odd, as he looks so big. but thats the magic of film. I did a film once with Stacy Keetch and he was HUGH, as was Stephanie Powers. But film plays tricks on the eye.
I can report that John is a fine chap and finds the city of Birmingham as tedious as the rest of us. Sorry to those of you...

Another day filming on ‘Dancing on the edge’. This time in Birmingham, just around the corner from the cathedral. A big ballroom scene. 100 dress extras and the full band on the stage (Chiwetel, Angel, Wumni, Chris Storr etc.), miming to the track.
